KFE — Keller + Friedli + Eden

KFE is a trio dedicated to improvised music with a punk edge.
Their playing moves between finely detailed soundscapes and bursts of raw energy, exploring the tension between fragility and power, structure and collapse. They embrace risk as a guiding principle, producing music that is both unpredictable and urgent.
The group brings together three distinctive voices in Swiss experimental music: guitarist Beat Keller, known for his explorations of extended techniques on his feedback guitar; drummer Lionel Friedli, whose playing combines precision, drive, and a taste for the unexpected; and pianist Philipp Eden, whose work on the piano is dedicated to expanding its vocabulary through preparations, inside playing, and electroacoustic techniques.
Their collaboration thrives on contrast and immediacy. Silence, texture, and resonance are treated with the same weight as noise, rhythm, and density, creating a music shaped by spontaneity, play, and intensity.
